Kind of on topic. I'm currently building Computer Maximus v2.0, and have 2 x 560mm radiators in it. The radiators I chose were the Black Ice Nemesis GTX, and they only have 2 ports. I have them mounted vertically, with the ports on the bottom. I understand this is going to be a pain to bleed, but I like the idea of never having to worry about the pump running dry. I've seen people say that a good pump will push the air out of a system, but when it comes to the radiator, there is such a pressure drop after water flows past the inlet, that I don't think there will be enough flow to push all of the air down to the bottom of the radiators, to exit via the outlet. I suspect that air can easily get trapped in horizontal mount situations too, where the radiator is at the top of the case, and ports are facing down. Could you touch on this subject sometime? Because I assume that there are new builders that may not catch this problem, and I suspect that a horizontal mounted radiator can have a lot of air trapped inside, if you don't flip the system over, causing it to be very inefficient.

I'm also designing the loop, with a valve in place, at one of the ports, so that I can flip the system on it's side, and fill/bleed that last little pocket of air out, without needing to run the pump, which would start to cavitate at the angle it would be at.

You have the explanation for the "squishing" of the flow" incorrect. From the fluid's perspective, that's a converging nozzle in subsonic flow, so the compressing of the liquid into a smaller space will increase the flow velocity and reduce the pressure. The reason the block flattens out the flow is to increase the exposed surface area of the fluid, as that will increase the rate of heat addition and dissipation. What you describe with increasing pressure and decreasing flow is a diffuser, which comes from an increase in cross-sectional area.

I don't get it. This is a closed loop system, yes? If you run distilled water with a water wetter/alcohol/anti-fungal foot rub jock itch set it and forget it goo, then why do you have build up and or dirt of any kind? Is it your goofey colored stuff that is the problem? Distilled water should be damn near 100% pure if done properly, sooo wheres the shmoo coming from? My thoughts are the crazy coloring goop.

for my first loop (still all new etc) .. would you reccomend going for primochill's vue ? (i find the visuals really good and kinda want it .. + it has a prep boxed with it so i can clean my rads etc) ... but since it would cost me a little over 100€ (no one here is supplying it and i have to import myself) i didnt already pull the trigger .. so my options are 1) spend 100€ for 2 bottles of vue and get primoprep that can clean my factory new rads better than i can AND have great visuals for 4-6 months (or however long the fluid will hold up) 2) go clean my EK rads with distilled water and hope its enough prep to then test the opaque cryofuel from them (might need another bottle .. but i cant really now how much i need .. and getting a bottle extra seemed like a good idea .. which i forgot when i made the final order)
