Thanks for the video... beside of the "lovely" price I also could read some articles about increasing numbers of dying or dead, bluescreens 2080 TI FE cards are reported from early adopters... but also on some partner cards. So keeping the fingers away from it is the best way to bring the market maaaybe back to "normal". But also looking at the price of it in europe... the partner 2080 TI cards are at 1300 - 1600 € and also some smarties are just buying them to re-sell them again online for a even higher price! WTF - I could see the MSI 2080 TI Trio for 2000 € ... because at this moment you only can pre-order those cards. So the worst case would be for an early buyer to spend even more money on it, mounting the new 2080 ti and just getting disappointed from the first start up maybe... and now - whats next?

The graphs suck because the edge of the bar is circular. This makes it far more difficult to at a glance see which bar is longer than another - it makes comparing size much more different. If the edges were squared off it would be great.

AMD... You've fixed your CPU issue and are now competitive and are stealing market share from Intel and forcing Intel to actually innovate and actually compete for the CPU market. Plz do the right thing and make the GPU market competitive so we dont have to watch nvidia do this kind of crap and charge atrocious prices for negligible performance increases.

Curious on others' opinions. I just built my "serious upgrade" gaming setup from a 1050ti and fx 8320, and went with the rtx 2080 FE with an i7 8700k. I justified the 2080 at the same price of the 1080ti with the..hopes..of Ray tracing/ other new tech having the edge over the 1080ti currently when the day came. I couldn't find a 1080ti under 800 to be honest. Felt new tech investment had the edge over the well known 1080ti, but Jay made a great point that by the time developers come out with content, the next line of cards will be out anyway. Kinda don't know what to feel. Great card though

I guess this is why they tried to sell ray tracing so hard. Because the extra price went solely to support the new tech that gamers don't even seem to want. Is RTX cool? Yeah, but is it worth that kind of money? That is a separate question.

I still have the GTX 970 and looking to upgrade, unfortunately most if not all gtx 1080ti are sold out or way over priced right now so which do you think are the best options going forward? It's looking like a 2080 which is what they're trying to push people to buy instead of 1080ti? Or 2080ti but even that is still way over priced a month later, so what are your thoughts?

I feel you bro, I got mine 1080ti just before the prices spiked up like crazy in Jan/2018. 2080ti is a terrible deal for this price right now. I would go for 1080ti probably, it's quite some time on the market and its reliability has been proven. On the other hand there should be better optimization on future drivers for 2080 and it has got some features like DLSS that you might have use for. Decision should be based on your monitor. You might use DLSS especially with 4k to get better performance. Maybe wait for a while, 1080ti could drop with price now as there will be less pressure on it on the market. It's a really good card and Christmas might bring some weird market changes this year.

I took the difference in fps on the RTX 2080 Ti and GTX 1080 Ti fps that was shown in this video and took the average of all of those numbers at different resolutions. You know what's depressing? For literally $600s more you get an average fps increase of 12.8 in 1080p, 21.2 in 1440p, and 19 in 4K. If anyone thinks that this is acceptable, look at the last generation. GTX 1070 that costs $400, gave the performance of a GTX 980ti which costs $700. This should have been offered at $800 at launch and $500 when a cheaper version of 2080 Ti comes out.

Problem is, that i dont see any 1080 ti in stores for 699$, instead i see them between 850 and 900 here whilst a 2080 costs about 850 as well. The cheapest used 1080ti i can find here are still about 6.700$. A 2080ti is about 1500 and a 1070 STRIX is about 550. So the only logical choice for me seems to be the 2080.

I'm very disappointed in the RTX release to be blunt. I run sli Gtx 980s and have a 31k graphics score in fire strike. It take a $1200 card to barely beat my 2 generations old setup, and I'm talking BARELY. A setup which cost less than the RTX 2080ti does, even back when I got them brand new off the Best Buy shelf. Yes it's 2 cards, but it's the same overall value and performance for dollar since it beats mine by about 10% but costs that much more. It's nice that there is now a single card solution to be able to hit co stanly over 144fps at 1440p but to get the most out of those new 144hz 4K monitors you need at least 2 of them, and even then in many cases it's not enough to stay above the refresh rate.

I feel like one the few people in the tech-sphere that believes the 2080 is not a bad investment, if you upgrading a 1080 or lower card. Such as me. I bought my 1080 a couple weeks after launch (folks forget the 1080 AiBs were hovering around $700 at launch, got a steal for mine at $699.95). Comparing a new 2080 $799 price tag versus a dated 1080 price is flawed logic. Also, the argument that you can get a 1080Ti for $100s less is generally true, for vanilla cards. My brand of choice is EVGA and the cheapest EVGA 1080Ti is $779 on NewEgg as I type this. Upgrading my my 1080 to a 2080 is a great choice ($20 for a more future-proof card). If we just want to complain about the price I agree, Its ridiculous. The argument that its a "terrible card" or "bad investment" is silly. Unless you have 1080Ti's of course, which I suspect where most of the complaints are coming from.

Ray Tracing and DLSS are just worthless right now because there aren't any titles. By the time there are a decent number the 30 series will be out, so might as well wait until then. Jay, I got to tell ya man.....I am just puzzled at the RTX 2080 benchmarks. I have a 8700k setup with 16gigs Corsair LPX 3200 memory. I am fairly savy with this stuff myself. I decided to upgrade from my MSI GTX 1080 Gaming so I bought the MSI GTX 1080 Ti Gaming (not the X) and the EVGA RTX 2080 XC Ultra to test and decide on which one to keep. Stock out of the box, this 1080 Ti is killing the EVGA RTX 2080 in benches and in game by about %7-10. It's not even the X version too! I even RMA'ed the 2080 with EVGA thinking I just got a bad card and I had similar results when I got the replacement in the mail. What the heck am I missing here......thought the 2080 was supposed to be a hair faster and it doesn't appear to be that way. Are the benches getting fudged a little here?
